My Generation

Branded "X" because we claim
anonymity from hierarchy,
demand revolution
and root in complacency,
content to change nothing,
certain that the driven
perpetrate a gross agression,
another masked consumption.

While we (my peers and I),
agape at our inheritance:
an earth consumed to nth degree,
starving for another tree,
unpotable water, unbearable air,
a disposable society, beyond all repair,

refuse to wave a banner, other
than a personal color.
Just call me sister.
Just call me brother.
